Out of the Corner of my eye I spotted Garrett and some humanoid Robot making their way towards me. Or the ship rather, since they didn't know I was here.

     Being the wonderfully considerate person I am, I decided to give them a heads up. You know, so they wouldn't freak out on me...or freak out less on me anyway. I climbed down from the hyper drive generator, which the idiot had managed to fry. Making myself as obvious as possible, I stretched, yawning. I saw Garrett pull the Robot quickly aside. Hearing muffled whispering, I sighed and stepped down the ship ramp.

     "Hola, mis amigos!" I waved as I approached.

     "Um...What?" Garrett stood stiffly, narrowing his eyes at me. I noticed his hands were curled into fists at his side. Weird.

      I rolled my eyes. "It means 'Hello, my friends'."

      "Pardon my intrustion, but I am programed to understand every language in the federation, and I have no data on that dialect." The Robot stated, moving it's robotic arms expressively in a disturbingly human way.

      Shrugging, I turned towards Garrett. "Who are you?" He asked.

     Beaming at him, I said. "Captain Petra Orion, sir. I understand that i'm going to be your new pilot."

      His face twisted in disgust and disbelief for a moment, but he quickly controlled his expression. I was tempted for a moment to slap him in the face, but I didn't. "Excuse me?"

     "I'm Captain Orion." I said slowly, frowning. "Or is this another dialect you can't understand?" I glared mockingly at Garrett. He, in turn, glared back at me.

     He grunted, dismissive. Walking up the ramp into the ship He asked. "What've you done to the generator?" He said it like an insult, like I had damaged it instead of the other way around.

     I'd never been very good at controlling my temper, and it showed now. "Excuse me?" I put my hands on my hips, rolling my weight onto my left leg.  "I'm not the one who fried the generator almost beyond repair, thank you very much Captain Arrogant!" He took a step back, eyebrows raised in outrage. I took a step forward. "I don't know what you did to mess this ship up, but i've been working my butt off to fix it, so don't talk to me like I'M the one who screwed it up mister!"

      He rolled his eyes, exhaleing sharply through his nose. Turning away from me, he walked into the ship. Rage boiled in my veins. "Jerk." I muttered under my breath.

     The Robot fell into step with me as I followed Garrett into the ship. "It will be a great privelage to work with a pilot of your reputation. My identification is C4. What is yours?"

     His friendly attitude--If a robot could have an attitude--made me like him far more than Captain Jerk-face. "I'm Petra." I smiled at him, though it was probably wasted on him.

      Garrett interuppted us. "How much more repairs need to be done?"

     I sighed, reluctant to turn to him. "I was almost done with fixing your fried hyper drive when you two walked up. It shouldn't take me too long to finish." I waved dissmisvely at him, copying his attitude. "Sit down for a minute and i'll get back to work."

      Unexpectedly, he walked towards me. "Let me help, it'll go faster."

      I glared at him. "What? Afraid that a GIRL pilot can't take care of fixing a generator without help?" I narrowed my eyes.

      He laughed, one short hard laugh. Somehow it managed to sound bitter. "I trust a girl to fix something, just not to keep her mouth shut." Before I could utter my furious protest, he added. "And i've got a schedule to keep up with, so WE need to fix the generator as quickly as possible." He smiled a surprizingly dazzleing smile which made me lose my train of thought. Talk about jedi mind tricks.

     My eyebrows pushed together. "Your mood swing are starting to confuse me. Do you have a multiple personality disorder?"
